What is Vocation-AI?
Vocation-AI is an online career intelligence platform that combines validated psychological assessments with artificial intelligence to help you understand who you are, how you think, and where you are most likely to thrive professionally. The platform draws on established frameworks including Holland's RIASEC theory, Johnson O'Connor aptitude research, Strong Interest Inventory principles, and narrative career construction theory to build a comprehensive picture of your vocational identity.

Vocation-AI is designed for anyone at a career crossroads — students exploring their first career path, mid-career professionals considering a change, experienced executives evaluating their next chapter, or anyone who simply wants a deeper understanding of their strengths and interests. The assessments are written to be inclusive of all experience levels, from those with no work history to those with decades of professional experience.
What assessments does Vocation-AI offer?
The platform includes four core assessments.
The Personality Assessment is based on Holland's RIASEC model and identifies your dominant personality type across six dimensions — Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional — and maps it to a primary career identity such as The Operator, The Architect, or The Visionary.
The Aptitude Assessment is inspired by the Johnson O'Connor and Highland Ability Battery research tradition and measures ten cognitive aptitudes including numerical reasoning, spatial visualization, memory, verbal reasoning, and structural intuition to identify your natural ability profile.
The Interests Assessment draws on Strong Interest Inventory principles and evaluates your interest intensity across six vocational domains, captures your topic interests across 28 subject areas, records your work experience history, and includes an open-ended section for you to describe interests the structured questions may not have covered.
The Career Construction Interview is based on Mark Savickas's Career Construction Theory and is a guided narrative interview that explores five topics: your role models, favorite books or shows, favorite leisure activities, favorite subjects, and an early life motto. The AI synthesizes your responses into a Career Construction Report that identifies your defining characteristic, life theme, and vocational direction.
What career tools does Vocation-AI offer?
In addition to the four assessments, the platform includes three career tools.
The Career Report generates a personalized top-five career recommendation report by scoring your personality, aptitude, and interests data against a database of vocational profiles using a seven-dimension matching algorithm.
The Job Compatibility Check allows you to enter any job title and description and receive an AI-powered compatibility analysis showing how well the role aligns with your profile, including a compatibility score, AI disruption risk, ten-year growth outlook, median salary, and top tasks.
The Job Search tool helps you explore opportunities aligned with your vocational profile.
How long does each assessment take?
The Personality Assessment takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes. The Aptitude Assessment takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes and includes timed memory exercises. The Interests Assessment takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes, including the extended profile questions. The Career Construction Interview is a conversational AI interview that typically takes 20 to 35 minutes depending on how much you share.
Are the assessments scientifically validated?
The assessments are built on well-established research frameworks that have been validated in academic and professional settings over many decades. Holland's RIASEC model is one of the most widely researched career theories in existence. The aptitude dimensions draw on the Johnson O'Connor Research Foundation's 90-plus years of ability testing. The Interests Assessment is informed by the Strong Interest Inventory tradition. The Career Construction Interview is based on Dr. Mark Savickas's internationally recognized narrative career counseling model. Can I retake an assessment?
Yes. You can retake any assessment at any time from your Dashboard. Each retake generates a new report, and your most recent report is shown in My Reports. Your assessment history is preserved in the system.
What is the Career Construction Interview and how does it work?
The Career Construction Interview is a guided AI conversation based on Mark Savickas's Career Construction Theory. The AI asks you about five topics — your childhood role models, favorite books or shows, leisure activities, favorite school subjects, and an early life motto or saying — and follows up with clarifying questions to draw out meaningful detail. After you complete all five topics, the AI synthesizes your responses into a Career Construction Report that identifies your defining characteristic, your life theme, and a set of vocational directions aligned with your narrative.
What is the Job Compatibility Check and how accurate is it?
The Job Compatibility Check allows you to paste any job title and description and receive an AI-powered compatibility analysis in seconds. The system scores your profile against the role and returns a compatibility score from 0 to 100, an AI disruption risk score, a ten-year growth projection, and position details. When the job title matches a known occupation in our database, the position details are drawn from that data. When no close match is found, the AI estimates the position details based on the title and description you provided, and these estimates are labeled Estimated in the report. As with all AI-generated analysis, results should be treated as informed guidance rather than definitive fact.
How does the Career Report work?
The Career Report uses a seven-dimension matching algorithm that scores your personality type, aptitude strengths, and interest profile against a database of vocational profiles. It returns your top five recommended careers with compatibility percentages, match explanations, and key considerations for each role. The report is most accurate when all four assessments have been completed, as it draws on data from all of them.
Is my data private?
Your assessment responses and reports are stored securely and are only accessible to you and the site administrator. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Please review our Privacy Policy for full details.
What do my results mean?
Your results are intended to help you understand patterns in your personality, cognitive strengths, and interests that may point toward fulfilling vocational directions. They are not a definitive diagnosis or a guarantee of career success. We recommend using your results as a starting point for reflection and conversation with career counselors, mentors, or other professionals.
